The Karkloof 100 Miler
One Hundred Miles for Smiles
To complete the Karkloof 100 mile trail race within the 36 hour cut-off (if all goes well – 30 hours).
This is a 50 mile out, 50 mile back format on fast, flowing trails with elevation gain of about 4500m through 2 nights and 1 day. Between us we have 14 x Comrades Marathons, 7 x 2 Oceans Ultras, 8 x Midmar Miles, 12 x Amashovas and 1 full Ironman event but this 161km trail will be our biggest and most exciting challenge by some margin.
We can’t wait to tackle this adventure and hopefully come out of this having learnt something new about ourselves and accomplished something special.
Graeme Hall is a husband and friend with ants in his pants who loves running, music, taking photos and new adventures. Earl Donnelly is hard working, determined and up for any challenge no matter how big or small. Tyrone Pullen is a newly engaged, outdoors enthusiast with a passion for sports.
Why the 100 miler? It seemed like a good idea at the time, I guess. Why Miles for Smiles? Every time you listen to David Grier talk about his latest adventure you are left feeling inspired and motivated to help. This is our chance to actually make a difference. Being able to be a part of something bigger than ourselves and hopefully change a few children’s lives is an honor and we can’t wait.
